Video Music Awards 2000 Prize Package Official Rules:

This contest (this "Contest") is provided by theMusicStories.com in conjunction with MTV Networks, a division of Viacom International Inc. ("MTVN"), and MusicVision, Inc. ("MusicVision" and, together with MTVN, collectively the "Sponsor").

By entering this contest the entrant (the "Entrant") agrees to the following:
  1. How To Enter: No purchase necessary. The Entrant must be a U.S. resident thirteen (13) years of age or older to enter; if the Entrant is under thirteen (13) years of age, parental consent is required. The Entrant must complete the official entry form displayed on the main contest web page located on theMusicStories.com. The Entrant will be asked to provide their electronic mail ("e-mail") address, age, and gender. The Entrant must complete all required data on the entry form in order for the contest entry to be valid. All entries must be made via the Internet and are deemed completed solely by the Authorized Account Holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. The Authorized Account Holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Service Provider (ISP), on-line access provider or any other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. The prize-winning entrant must provide theMusicStories.com with proof that s/he is the Authorized Account Holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry. Limit one (1) entry per person, per prize. Subsequent entries from the same individual will automatically be disqualified. No responsibility is assumed by theMusicStories.com for lost, late, misdirected, illegible or mutilated entries, or any computer, on-line telephone, cable access or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of theMusicStories.com and will not be returned.

  2. Winner Selection/Deadline Dates: Sweepstakes begins at 12:01am EST on August 10, 2000 and ends 11:59pm EST on September 7, 2000. All on-line entries must be received no later than 11:59pm EST on September 7, 2000. One Winners (the "Winner") will be selected randomly by theMusicStories.com from among all the eligible on-line entries received. The random drawing will be conducted under the supervision and discretion of theMusicStories.com whose decisions are final.

  3. Prizes: The Winner will receive The Limited Edition prize package, which will consist of a hat, a key chain, a t-shirt, a hoody sweatshirt, and a watch, each of which will be "MTV Video Music Awards"-branded (the "Prize Package"). Estimated retail value of the Prize Package is approximately $75.00. There is no substitution, transfer, or re-assignment of prizes permitted. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize is unavailable. All winners will be notified via e-mail.

  4. Eligibility: This sweepstakes is open to persons thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of entry, or persons under the age of thirteen (13) whom have obtained parental consent. This Contest is void where prohibited by law. theMusicStories.com employees, and any contractors working in direct association with theMusicStories.com programs, products and promotions, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.

  5. General Conditions: The Entrant agrees to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of theMusicStories.com which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. This Contest is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United States. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations in the United States. The Winner will be notified within a reasonable time after the drawing date. The Winner may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within seven (7) days following the date of attempted notification. Non-compliance within this time period may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner in Sponsor's sole discretion. Return of any Prize or prize notification as "undeliverable" may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner in Sponsor's sole discretion. The Entrant further grants to theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc. the right to use and publish their email address online and in print in any other media in connection with the Contest. Acceptance of a Prize constitutes permission for theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc. to use the Winner's name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless otherwise prohibited by law. By entering, Entrant releases and holds harmless theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc., and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents including advertising agencies, and any and all sponsors from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, harm, or damage, cost or expense of any kind arising from or in connection with this Contest or any Prize won.

  6. Internet: If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc. which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc. reserve the right within their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc. assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, any entry. theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc. are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by theMusicStories.com, MusicVision, Inc., MTVN and Viacom International, Inc. on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANYONE TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST OR DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR INTERNET SERVICE RELATED TO THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

  7. Use of Submitted User Information: By entering this sweepstakes, the Entrant authorizes theMusicStories.com and/or the "Web Page", to put all submitted data fields and data collected into a theMusicStories.com owned database for direct marketing purposes. Submitted data fields may include, and are not limited to, e-mail address, name, gender, address, occupation, age, computer chip serial identification number or any other type of legally-obtainable information theMusicStories.com collects from the Entrant.

  8. Winners List: The name of the Winner may be posted on theMusicStories.com on the Internet.

  9. Copy of Rules: Anyone may request a free copy of the official rules (as contained herein) and/or a statement setting forth the prize winners at theMusicStories.com and other web sites, by mailing a self-addressed, stamped envelope to theMusicStories.com by September 7, 2000.

  10. Odds: The odds of winning a prize are dependent on the number of eligible entries received.
